If you belong to the category of digital nomads or if you want to spend some time in Ikaria working on your own project, the Ikaria Center offers you affordable accommodation, free access to a car for your explorations on the island, co-working space and participation in indoor and outdoor activities. The accommodation and work facilities are located in an organized building complex, in a wooded area on a hillside, approximately 2 Km from the sea.
Accommodation
Each of our guests has his own private room in the Ikarian Center guesthouse. You do not share your room with other guests you do not know beforehand. You can share your room, sometimes at no extra cost, with a friend traveling with you, regardless of whether or not the friend is participating in our courses or activities. All rooms are heated, equipped with private bathroom and kitchenette and can accommodate up to two people. The center’s guest house is located right next to the course/work area, in a quiet mountain location, not far from the sea. We are located in a magical part of the island, 1.5 Km away from the settlement of Arethousa and 3 Km from the seaside Karavostamos, in direct contact with the natural environment. The view of the sea and the mountain as well as the starry sky on clear nights is enchanting. You will experience the calm and relaxation that direct contact with nature gives to a person’s daily life. The common areas of the facilities help contact with other residents, as well as isolation, thus supporting the development of a healthy sociability among the guests.
Activities
Ikarian Centre is a Greek language school for adults. We have been organizing Greek as a second language courses for adults since 1995. Our experience allows us to organize a wide range of activities, from Greek language courses at various levels, to traditional dance classes and hikes in mountains of the area. If you choose to stay with us, you will participate in indoors and outdoors activities such as:
- Ηiking and olive picking
- Τraditional dance lessons,
- Lectures
- Singing and cooking evenings,
- Film screenings
Cost
Basic cost, for one or two people in the same room:
€100/overnight, 5 overnights minimum. Check-in Sunday, Monday Tuesday. Check out Friday, Saturday, Sunday. -10% for more than 21 overnights with Sunday check-out. The discount does not appear in the cost breakdown of the reservation, but will be confirmed by us when you complete the reservation. The cost includes: Accommodation in a private room, participation in indoor and outdoor activities (see above), free access to co-working space, laundry, simple meals, local transport to Evdilos port and nearby beaches. Breakfast is not served, but you can prepare your breakfast in the kitchenette of your room.
Special periods
August 1 – September 7
€69/overnight for 1 or two people in the same room. Minimum booking period 5 days. Check-in / check-out: any day. The cost includes simple accommodation in a private room. No activities or hikes are organized. We do not offer breakfast or meals, but you can prepare your breakfast or simple meals in the kitchenette of your room.
January 20 – April 7
Only long stays for one or two people in the same room for 4 or more weeks
€196/week for one person sharing a room or €238/week for two people in the same room. Minimum booking period 4 weeks. Check in / Check out: Sundays. The cost includes: Accommodation in a private room, free access to the work room, laundry, sharing with others a 5-seater car with automatic transmission for your local commuting. Film screenings, hikes and cooking nights are organized on a monthly basis. We also encourage guests to participate in traditional dance lessons and other activities organized for locals. The cost does not include breakfasts or lunches, but you can prepare breakfasts and simple meals in the kitchenette of your room or in the small communal kitchen-dining room.

Where exactly is Ikarian Centre located

What can I find in the workspace?
The workplaces are equipped with printers, copiers, scanners, computers, white boards and everything else necessary for a online work and group meetings. After all, language courses are organized all year round at our premises.
Do I have to rend a car?
If you participate from April to end of November, you do not have to rend a car, as we take care for basic transport of our guests. See more details about if you have to rend a car here If you come in winter (January – end of March) you will have an automatic car at your disposal shared with other tenants.
Reservation
Check availability and submit your reservation using the form below. No payment is made through the booking process, we will not ask you for your credit card number. After submitting the booking form you will need to pay 30% of the cost as a deposit to the bank account we will indicate via email. The remaining must be paid on arrival. Reservations from January to March: If you reserve a room for the months of January February and March, we will be able to confirm the reservation when the minimum number of reservations is reached or by mid-October. If the minimum number of reservations is not met by mid-October, the guesthouse will not open for the winter season, winter reservations will be canceled and deposits will be refunded.
Deposits are non-refundable if you cancel your reservation for any reason, but you can join the program the same or the following year.
